Land Surveyor & Training Mentor

Mark’s route into surveying began at university, where a geological mapping project sparked his interest in maps, measurement and the outdoors. After researching career options, he realised land surveying combined everything he was looking for and joined Kemp over six years ago.

Now a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), Mark plays a key role in delivering a wide range of topographical, engineering and measured building surveys across the South West. He recently achieved Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a significant milestone that reflects his technical expertise, professionalism and commitment to the industry.

Mark enjoys the variety that surveying brings, with no two projects ever being the same. From establishing site control and capturing survey data to processing information back in the office, he thrives on the mix of outdoor fieldwork and technical problem-solving. Alongside his project work, Mark is also Kemp’s Training Mentor, supporting and developing the next generation of surveyors as they progress their careers. Throughout his time at Kemp, he has worked on projects ranging from major infrastructure schemes to local developments, helping shape communities across Cornwall and beyond.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys making the most of Cornwall’s landscapes through photography, hiking and fossil hunting. He also has a passion for landscape painting, local history and geology – an interest that first inspired his career. If he’s not exploring the Cornish countryside, he’s likely planning his next adventure, with the national parks of Utah firmly at the top of his travel bucket list.
