Specialists in Drainage Condition Assessment, Pipe Tracing & Network Mapping for Safer, Smarter Construction

At Seeka Utility Surveys, we provide accurate, professional CCTV drainage surveys to give you a clear picture of what’s happening inside your drainage network before it causes problems on site. Whether you’re planning new housing, commercial developments, highways, or major infrastructure, our survey teams deliver reliable condition data, accurate pipe positioning, and comprehensive drainage mapping to support your project from feasibility through to adoption.

Using advanced CCTV systems, sonde tracing, and confined space survey techniques, we give you the confidence to design, plan, and build with certainty, preventing costly drainage failures, adoption delays, or unexpected clashes further down the line.

Trusted by Leading Contractors, Designers & Utility Providers

Teams across the UK rely on us because we:

  • Deliver thorough CCTV drainage surveys reported in line with the Manual of Sewer Condition Classification (MSCC).
  • Support drainage network surveys to National Highways standards, including DDMS (formerly HADDMS).
  • Adapt to projects of all scales, from single residential connections to complex highway drainage networks.
  • Provide flexible deployment, from one-off condition assessments to full project drainage mapping programmes.
  • Produce clear, accurate drainage plans in CAD, BIM, or GIS formats.
  • Maintain exceptional communication and responsiveness throughout every job.

Why You Need Professional CCTV Drainage Surveys

Understanding the condition and position of your drainage network is essential to avoiding risk and programme delays. A professional CCTV drainage survey ensures:

  • Accurate condition assessment of foul and surface water pipes, identifying defects, blockages, and structural issues before they escalate.
  • Confident identification of connections, buried manholes, and obstructions that could affect your design or construction programme.
  • Verified pipe positions, invert levels, sizes, and materials to inform better design decisions.
  • Compliance with adoption requirements for S104 agreements and National Highways drainage standards.
  • Fewer delays, reduced rework, and greater control over project costs.

Even a single undetected drainage defect or mislocated connection can cause significant disruption. CCTV drainage surveys protect your programme, your design, and your people.

Decades of Combined Expertise in Drainage Survey & Mapping

Seeka Utility Surveys brings together a highly experienced team with decades of combined industry knowledge in drainage investigation and network mapping.

Over the years, we’ve supported a wide range of projects, including housing and commercial developments, highways and transport infrastructure, renewable energy and utilities installations, schools, hospitals, universities and other public sector schemes, as well as major civil engineering works and complex brownfield redevelopments. If water flows through it underground, chances are, we’ve surveyed it.

Our CCTV Drainage Surveys Process

Our workflow is precise, transparent, and tailored to the specific requirements of your project.

We take time to understand the site, project scope, required deliverables, and the type of drainage survey best suited to your needs, whether that’s condition assessment, pipe tracing, network mapping, or a combination of all three

Before arriving on site, we review any available drainage records, utility data, and existing drawings to understand the likely network layout and identify potential constraints or hazards.

Using push rod and crawler CCTV systems, we inspect the internal condition of foul and surface water pipes, identifying defects, blockages, root intrusion, displaced joints, and structural deterioration. All findings are reported in line with the Manual of Sewer Condition Classification (MSCC).

Where a full condition report is not required, or as a complement to CCTV inspection, we rod a sonde transmitter through the pipe to trace its route at the surface. The line is detected from above and marked out, then surveyed with GPS and total stations to produce an accurate plan of the system, including manholes, gullies, invert levels, pipe size, and material.

For deep, large-diameter, or complex drainage systems, our confined space-trained surveyors can enter chambers directly, using total stations and laser scanners to map the full extent of the network with precision. In certain circumstances, specialist drones can also be deployed to inspect and survey chambers where direct access is restricted.

Once data is collected, we process and map all findings to produce detailed CAD, GIS or BIM drainage drawings with clearly presented pipe runs, structures, and condition grades, alongside digital deliverables and 3D models where required.

Throughout the survey process, we provide fast communication, on-site clarification visits, and seamless integration with any wider topographical, utility, or engineering survey requirements.

All work is subject to rigorous quality assurance, with experienced OS19X trained surveyor oversight, senior-level review, and a clear documentation trail, so you can have complete confidence in the final output.

Areas We Cover

Our survey teams operate across the UK, regularly attending sites in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire, as well as supporting projects across the wider South West and beyond.

Whether you need a rapid single-site inspection or a long-term drainage survey programme, we can deploy quickly to meet your project requirements.

Seeka Drain Survey

Why are we different from other CCTV Drainage Surveys companies?

Seeka Utility Surveys stands out thanks to our:

  • Full range of drainage survey techniques: push rod CCTV, crawler CCTV, sonde tracing, and confined space surveying, all under one team.
  • Standards compliance: MSCC condition reporting, National Highways DDMS standards, and S104 adoption surveys as required.
  • Advanced technology: high-resolution CCTV systems, multi-frequency sonde tracing, GNSS, total stations, laser scanning, and drone deployment where applicable.
  • Flexible service: from single drain inspections to full site drainage mapping programmes.
  • High accuracy workflows: controlled, reviewed, and fully traceable data at every stage.
  • Cost-effective approach: identifying drainage defects and mislocated pipes early saves far more than the survey costs.

CCTV Drainage Surveys FAQs

A CCTV drainage survey uses a camera pushed or driven through a pipe to visually inspect its internal condition and identify defects, blockages, or structural issues, reported in line with recognised industry standards.

They’re commonly required prior to land purchase, at the start of design or construction, for drainage adoption under S104 agreements, for National Highways schemes, or whenever there’s a suspected drainage problem affecting your project.

Sonde tracing uses a transmitter rodded through a pipe to locate its route at the surface. It’s used when you need to map the position of a drainage system accurately without requiring a full condition assessment.

Yes. Our confined space-trained surveyors can enter deep or complex chambers directly, and we can also deploy drones in situations where physical access is restricted.

Absolutely. We are experienced in providing drainage network surveys to National Highways DDMS (formerly HADDMS) requirements.

Yes. Our pipe tracing and drainage mapping surveys can be tailored to meet S104 adoption requirements when confirmed in advance.

We produce CAD, GIS, BIM, and 3D outputs depending on your project requirements.
