As we look back on 2025, it’s great to reminisce about the wide variety of projects we have been a part of this year. It is always a pleasure to work alongside our long-standing partners as well as new clients. While we cannot mention every single job, here are some of the standout projects from across our topographic surveying, setting out, and Seeka teams.
It has been a big year for our setting out department, marked by continuous growth across several key infrastructure projects. Our team has remained heavily involved in the Truro Northern Access Road, providing precise and reliable setting out support to keep construction moving efficiently and safely. Further afield in Bridport, our surveyor Josh took on the vital task of setting out for a new bridge, an exciting project and a fantastic opportunity to see a major structure take shape from the very beginning.
This year we have also seen an increase in our 3D model works. From Digital Twins and point clouds to Revit and BIM, our team has used cutting-edge technology to give clients clearer insight and improved visualisation of their projects. Standout examples include our work at Union Square, where we produced a full 3D Revit model to provide designers with an accurate and reliable basis for their plans, and another 3D Revit model in Exeter to support planned upgrades at the Exeter Materials Reclamation Facility. We also launched our new Digital Twin service, creating immersive walk-through models for sites which have ranged from substations to holiday lets.
In Seeka and Land survey, our teams have had a busy year, including lots of night work to keep projects on time and disruption to a minimum. One notable project was our work on Manadon Interchange, where we completed an updated utility and topographic survey for improvement works. This is a site we have been involved in since 2020, so it was an honour to return. Another significant job for the team was a combined topographic and utility survey in Lyme Regis on behalf of South West Water for vital wastewater systems. This involved plenty of walking up and down hills to complete comprehensive surveys across the town.
It has also been a pleasure to support a wide range of community-focused projects this year. Our team has delivered several education-related surveys, including a 3D model for Redruth School to assist with future development plans, and setting out works at Exeter University. We have also collaborated with several charities, completing a full utility survey for The Cornish Seal Sanctuary which was a team favourite, and providing setting out support for Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue. Closer to home, we were delighted to carry out a utility survey for Camborne Rugby Club, helping to support improvements for this much-loved local venue.
Our work has also taken us far beyond the South West this year, reflecting the growing reach of our services across the UK. We have supported several large-scale solar farm projects, providing both topographic surveying and setting out in locations including Leeds, Lincoln and Kent.
Our team has not only excelled in delivering top-tier services but also in growing their skills and qualifications this year. Congratulations to Josh and Sam K, who obtained their memberships to CICES, and to Harrison, who gained Technical Membership. It has been a big year for training too, with our junior surveyors Piran, Sam P, Matt R and Zak W all enrolled at The Survey School working towards their diplomas, as well as Dwight and Lucas, who completed a Utility Mapping course. Alongside these courses, our team continues to upskill, including training in confined space, N4CE, GPR and AutoCAD. Our junior surveyors also benefit from our in-house training mentor, Mark, who runs regular training sessions to continually improve their knowledge and skills.
We have also been proud to attend a variety of events this year, including the Cornwall Construction Summit, multiple career fairs and the SCCS Survey Awards.
We’re now looking forward to the year ahead and hope to build on this year’s momentum making 2026 an even more successful year. With new equipment and technology, ongoing infrastructure projects and a growing, highly skilled team, we are ready to take on fresh challenges and continue delivering exceptional work for our clients and communities. Thank you to everyone who has supported and worked with us throughout 2025. We look forward to another fantastic year ahead.
